Ten Sponsorships For
The Ruben Richards Foundation, in collaboration with the Emerging Leaders Institute, is offering sponsorships for ten highly motivated youth to attend a one-day seminar with Dr Ruben Richards and thirty other specially invited guests.We will base this one-day seminar for Emerging Leaders on his recent publications, “Bastaards or Humans”.
Bastaards or Humans attempts to undo centuries of indoctrination, misinformation, stereotyping and abuse about the identity and heritage of a people with an ancestry linked to the oldest form of human civilisation namely, the Khoi/Khoe and San (commonly referred to as Khoisan).
The practice of human rights in vulnerable communities; the indigenous communities, women and disabled, as well as the LGBTI community.
- A synoptic understanding of the History of South Africa with particular reference to the Khoe and San history.
- The genesis of these vulnerable communities and how it came about that they were marginalised.
- Exploring contributing factors of the marginalisation of women and how patriarchy in the past assisted in this gender-based imbalance.
- Finally, the way forward and how to become agents of positive change in our communities.

Value Of Sponsorship
Please apply to: email@example.com Each sponsorship is worth R 3 500.00 and will cover delegate registration fees, learning resources, books, refreshments and meals for the day. Applicants should be between the ages of 18 to 35. We will give preference to young people active in their respective communities, schools, places of worship, colleges and universities. A written motivation would receive immediate attention.
On 27 November 2019, all successful applications will receive a formal letter of invitation with further details regarding the seminar. In addition, we will ask them to make a R100.00 (One Hundred Rand) holding deposit into the Foundation’s account. This would ensure that deserving applicants will commit to attending the seminar. Therefore, those who do not comply with our requirements will give up their sponsorships and we will reallocate sponsorships to committed applicants.

Please Note: The deadline for submissions is on Monday 26 November 2019. Regretfully, we will not consider late submissions.
We won’t accept responsibility for any applicant who had submitted their applications after the deadline, as stated above. In addition, neither would they would hold us liable for submissions sent to an incorrect email address, without receipt of a letter of motivation and proof of payment for the holding deposit of R100.00 (One Hundred Rand). After we deduct bank charges, we will refund the balance of the holding deposit to seminar attendees on 30 November 2019.
